About Me.
I started my career deep in the code—as a programmer and systems engineer—learning how things really work from the inside out. Over nearly a decade at Level 3 Communications, I built a strong foundation in enterprise technology and gradually moved into engineering leadership. It was here I first led Scrum teams, managed complex deployments, and learned how to scale teams that could deliver under pressure.
One of my first major transitions came when I joined a digital marketing agency as their Director of Technology. I was brought in to build their tech and product stack from scratch. It taught me how to translate business vision into technology strategy—and how to build lean, adaptable systems that evolve with customer needs.
At KPA, I led the company’s evolution from a services firm into a software business. It was a full-stack transformation. I built an engineering organization from the ground up, integrated technology teams from nine acquisitions, and helped productize internal IP into a scalable SaaS platform. I developed a clear product and technology roadmap, implemented Agile across the business, and introduced mobile capabilities for clients managing field compliance. I also played a central role in preparing the company for investment from Providence, contributing to both sell-side diligence and operational readiness.
My most transformative role came next—as CTO at Alchemer. When I joined, the tech stack was unstable, the team burned out, and the roadmap non-existent. I pitched a bold R&D reinvestment plan to the board, won the budget, and got to work. We modernized a legacy PHP monolith into scalable microservices using the strangler pattern, built a product organization from scratch, and delivered new offerings like Alchemer Connect and a no-code integration hub. In parallel, we reduced AWS costs by 30%, cut customer churn in half, and tripled annual revenue from $21M to $63M. That journey culminated in a successful acquisition by KKR.
Along the way, I’ve built and led global teams across India, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. I’ve scaled organizations from 20 to 90+ developers in under a year, partnered with firms like Capgemini and Endava, and developed playbooks for hiring, offshoring, and technical onboarding.
Today, I’m focused on fractional CTO and strategy work—helping mission-driven founders transition from services to software, secure early funding, and build sustainable product foundations. One of my current engagements involves collaborating with Nvidia and AWS startup programs to support an AI-powered environmental data platform. Across every chapter of my career, I’ve been driven by the same goal: solve real problems, build great teams, and create lasting value through technology.
